MSW and MSSL Neurology/Stroke/Epilepsy Escalation Paths
- MSW all new consults including possible admissions to any neuro service (24/7) EXCEPT for acute stroke codes (for these activate acute stroke code protocol)
- MSW neuro consult pager (list number)
- MSW stroke APP or fellow if requesting stroke consult
- MSW general neuro consult attending if requesting non-stroke consult
- MSW primary service general neuro/stroke services
- MSW neuro floor resident
- MSW stroke APP (for stroke primary service patient)
- primary service attending
MSW EMU patients
- EMU NP/fellow
- EMU attending
MSSL general neuro consults weekdays
- MSSL general neuro consult intern
- MSSL consult attending
MSSL general neuro consult weeknight/holiday/weekend
- MSSL general neuro attending
MSSL stroke weekdays
- stroke APP
- Stroke attending
MSSL stroke weeknight/holiday/weekend:
- stroke fellow (if on schedule)
- stroke attending
If this is an ACUTE STROKE then the STROKE CODE PROTOCOL should be activated immediately. Individuals should not be paged. The above escalation is only applicable for non-acute stroke situations.
If a stroke fellow appears on the schedule then call fellow -> attending.
